We asked Melissa a few questions!
Could you introduce yourself?
I am a driven community minded professional that has been in Employment Services for several years in different areas such as Workforce Australia, Job Active, Labour Hire and Training.
What’s your role and responsibility?
In my role as Manager, I identify barriers and challenges for our ParentsNext participants and provide customised targeted approaches and support in employment, training or mentoring outcomes.
Why did you choose Jobs Queensland and what excites you in this role?
JQL has a great reputation in Mackay region and proven success in the ParentsNext contract and I wanted to work with an organisation that supported and valued their employees.
My strategic vision moving forward is to continue to strengthen collaboration with key stakeholders and provide individualised pathways for our clients.

What do you enjoy outside work?
As a single parent of 4 myself, I enjoy spending time within our community space with my children, exploring the local beaches and Botanical gardens.
